Guide to Korean Government Scholarship Program

Purpose

Promote international educational exchanges and friendly relationships by providing opportunities for foreign students to study in a higher educational institution in Korea

Qualification for Application
Qualification for Application – Undergraduate, Graduate, and Common requirements
Undergraduate
  • Under 25 years old as of March 1st of the year of admission
  • Applicants who have completed (or expected to complete) elementary, middle, and high school education as of March 1st of the year of admission
Graduate
  • Under 40 years old as of September 1st of the year of admission
  • Applicants who have obtained a bachelor's or Masters degree as of September 1st of the year of admission
Common
  • The applicant and both his/her parents are all foreigners
  • Applicants with dual citizenship of which one is Korean do not qualify as foreigners.
  • Applicants should be mentally and physically fit to study in Korea for the long term
  • Applicants who are enrolled in a university or graduate school in Korea are not eligible to apply
  • However, a scholarship student invited by the government who has obtained TOPIK level 4 or above and recommended again by the Embassy of Korea in their country may reapply.
  • Applicants whose GPAs for the whole year of their final school were 80% or above

Submit applications to the Korean diplomatic missions in your corresponding country or enrolled university in Korea
Every September of the previous year Every February

Only for applicants who have applied to the diplomatic missions
