Fact Sheet of KNU Exchange Program Nomination Excel Form for staff of partner university

Overview

  • A student from a Sister University of Kangwon National University may attend one or two semesters at KNU and return to their school to receive credits.
  • A student must obtain an official recommendation from their school to apply as an exchange student, and the tuition fees should be paid to their original school.

Eligibility

  • Able to understand classes in Korean or English
  • Have completed at least two semesters at their home university
  • GPA of 2.7 or higher, out of a 4.0 scale (or 3.0 out of 4.5)

Transcript sample and Grading system

  • KNU will automatically send the student’s transcript through email to the respective partner universities after the end of each semester.
  • Students can view and print out their transcript in person from ‘KCloud system’.

Documents to be Submitted

  • 1) Certificate of enrollment  * Must be certified by APOSTILLE or the Korean Embassy
  • 2) Transcript of records
  • 3) Recommendation letter from home university
  • 4) Copy of passport
  • 5) Bank Statement Certificate  * 1 semester: $4,500 / 1 year: $9,000
  • 6) (Optional) Korean or English Language Proficiency Certificates

* After the nomination, students must directly upload the required files above through the online application system ‘K-Cloud’.

* According to current visa issuance regulations, students from OECD countries may simplify the following two items.

1) Certificate of Enrollment - Apostille (You can submit a certificate of enrollment issued by your home university without the apostille.)

5) Bank Statement Certificate (Even if KNU does not receive this document, the embassy may request it when issuing a visa.)

Financial Support

  • Tuition and fees : Application, admission and tuition fees are waived
  • Scholarship : Participants may have an opportunity to receive a K-PIES and GKS scholarship.

Advantages of KNU Student Exchange Program

Note

  • Restricted study field: Nursing, Medicine, Veterinary Science (Medicine), Pharmacy, Law
  • Since original documents are not required, students(applicants) upload the scanned documents in pdf format to the KNU portal system(K-Cloud).
  • Regular courses provided in English are subjects for undergraduate students. Graduate students can also apply for regular courses (provided in English) for undergraduate students, but only when the credits are accepted by their home schools.
  • Applicants can access the application link below only after they are nominated by their home university on time.
